What is Cranial Prosthesis?

For Customers experiencing hair loss due to a medical condition like alopecia, medical treatments like chemotherapy, or any other clinical disease or treatment causing hair loss, our cranial prosthesis is a custom-made medical wig created with the most natural technique and cutting-edge technology. The phrase is used in the medical industry and in relation to insurance.

Difference between Cranial Prosthesis and a Wig

A typical wig is not the same as a cranial hair prosthesis.

A cranial prosthesis offers breathable technology to control body temperature and shields the hair and scalp from the outside elements, whereas a regular wig usually has a generic one size fits all cap style. In addition, a regular wig has an unnatural shape, making it very difficult to create a natural look. Most wig cap constructions don’t allow the hair to be worn in any upward styles such as high bun or pony tails.

Our Cranial Prosthesis is custom handmade strand by strand to create most natural look. The cap material is a specialized, non- irritating undetectable lace is soft to the touch and it is designed to disappear on skin. The ventilation technique use to create the cranial prosthesis imitate appearance of a natural growing hairline and natural density of hair.

We make an effort to match the hairline, sideburns, widows peaks, and borders to give each piece a distinct look. The cranial cap can also be designed to have a stretch material inside to accommodate for any hair growth and expands due to the change in size.

Only raw virgin hair is used to create any texture from silky straight, body wavy, curly, relaxed, or natural blow out. The specific origin of virgin hair is typically decided once the client decides the texture that best compliments him/her.

The cranial prosthesis can be worn in a high ponytail, up-do or bun for a variety of looks. The virgin hair can also be colored, cut and styled. More traditional cranial cap, netting and silicon mold designs may be requested due to the clients skin or scalp condition.
